Course Overview

This workshop which is held twice a year is designed for people who are looking to up-skill in the application of wigs.

The Makeup School offers an intensive hands on experience where you will learn how to care, maintain wig & hairpieces using the most up to date products and techniques.

  • Cleaning wigs
  • Caring for wigs - synthetic and human hair
  • Blocking & cleaning lace front wigs
  • How to prepare hair for wig application
  • Application of a hard front wig (synthetic)
  • Application of a Human hair lace front wig
  • Applying a ¾ wig and small hairpieces

Additional Information

You will need the following products and equipment to be able to start this workshop

  • Clip boxes – must have ripple pins and bobby pins
  • Blow dryer
  • Styling equipment – curling tongs, hair straightener
  • Postiche brush
  • Tail comb
  • Glue brush
  • Isopropyl alcohol
  • Isopropyl myristate
  • Small dish to hold glue

It is compulsory for you to provide a model for Evening (two) for lace front wig application. We do recommend you provide models for all three evenings but if this isn’t possible you are welcome to work on mannequin heads for evening one & three.

We will provide all mannequin heads, wigs and hairpieces along with matt adhesive glue.

*Note evening two will be up to one hour longer 6.00 to 10.00pm.

Course Requirements

To be able to start a course at The Makeup School an acceptable/accomplished level of English is required, both written & verbal.

Fees must be paid in full one week prior to the start date.

To start this course you must be 16 years and over. If under 18, this form must be completed by your legal parent or guardian.

Students enrolling for the Four Week Workshop are NOT required to attend an interview and will automatically be accepted once a start date has been confirmed with TMS.

Complete the Application Form

You must now complete the Application Form and submit to The Makeup School along with your non refundable deposit of $200. This deposit will secure your place on this course.

Balance of the total amount must be paid in full one week prior to commencement of training.

Course Fee payment options

Payments must be received by The Makeup School Ltd ON OR BEFORE their due date. All Fees not received by the due date will incur a "late payment penalty fee" of $20.00 per day until the payment is received, and students may be turned away from class, (we recommend you deposit any funds two days prior to the due date to avoid penalty). There will be no exceptions to this, so please make note of the due dates for your fee payments.

Full payment is to be made 7 days prior to the commencement of the workshop.

Student Withdrawal: If a student wishes to withdraw from the course the following applies:

For withdrawal 7 days or less prior to commencement of Course, a $100.00 short notice withdrawal fee will be deducted, in addition to the non-refundable registration fee. Any refund will be at the complete discretion of The Makeup School Ltd.

Student Withdrawal

If a student wishes to withdraw from the course the following applies:

Once the course is commenced, fees must be paid in full according to the payment option chosen.

In the case of any external debt recovery charges, the responsibility of these charges will lie with the student, or where the student is under 18, the responsibility will lie with the legal parent or guardian.

All refunds are made at the complete discretion of The Makeup School Ltd

Late Payment
